Foundry beginner help!!!?!

Hi Everyone,

Basically I've gone through what must be loads of posts in this forum, and have yet to find the answer to what I'm wondering about.

Everyone says, to create your own foundry mission, you've got to buy a slot using crystals or zen, yet what they don't say is what I'm guessing they should add:

which is where my question begins , which is:

Do I have to download and install another star trek online program? in order to do this? or do I just use the same launcher that I use when I log on to play "star trek online"?

I suspect that I install a different program than the main game. is this true? and if so where???? link please>? I also am confused, is there two different programs to choose from?

red shirt and tribble or somthing?

Also, I'm a "free-to-play" person, I've got (including the 2 free characters they give you), 8 character slots, from what I understand, you need to have a free slot of a character true?

Mainly though, Help LOL, please.

As I said, the main thing confusing me is do I install a different program in order to buy slots to create "foundry" missions?

For a person that is doing "free-to-play", if I do have to install somthing, do I have to pay for it?

Thank you for any answers, in advance.

You don't have to install another program. It's all included in the main game.

Currently the Foundry is offline while they republish everything after the Season 7 update. When it's back up, which should be within a couple weeks, all you have to do is click on the "Create Content" button at the top of the character selection screen.

Ohhhhhh o.k. LOL, thank you. I had wondered what was going on. I saw in the main menu of the game that you can't click on it right now.

The other question then is, how much zen is it for a foundry slot?

10,000 for 4 slots I believe. But its been like a year since I maxed out on slots, so don't quote me on that.

I think I paid 8000 for my first 4 slots.
10,000 for each additional 4.

Oh, thank God, LOL, ok.

Can you use zen to buy it? or is it just crystals?

You can convert zen into dilithium and vice versa using the dilithium exchange. Easiest way to get there is to open your inventory and click the assets tab. Then click the purple button that says exchange.

One other question, how does the , in the main menu area, after log in, when you click the other tab, (at the character choice screen, ) to buy foundry slots, how does it know which character to take the crystals from?

and do you then lose that character from the STO game? and only have it in the foundry~?
or , like ......<gone cross eyed>
