Investigate Officer Report not worth the effort
Investigate Officer Report will be less and less worth doing just because of the terrible mechanics in Foundry. I just wasted a lot of time on a mission to find out it was impossible to complete due to the broken staus of Foundry. First the mechanics killed my crew in the middle of the ground mission and then in the final space mission the mechanics removed one of the targeted objects from the map, which was necessary for progression.

Why would I waste 30-60 minutes on a mission to only find out I cannot complete it because of the broken mechanics supporting the mission. The fault is not the player-authors, but the lousy tech oversight for Foundry.

That was the only benefit of one clicks... the STO techs couldn't break those as easily. How about fixing things before making full use of them mandatory for obtaining necessary material for character development. :mad:

I think their change is nice. I enjoy playing foundry missions quite a bit. Since they got rid of console quickies, Now i simply get rewarded with officer reports to play missions i enjoy in the foundry. And i do believe that was their whole point to the change.:)

tried 6 different foundry missions.
everyone one of them locked up and i couldnt progress.
i would get to final events and then the final part would not pop.

hail NPC X -the guy would not be in the spot, i would use the compass and get to area and nothing.

kill X mobs- get 80% and no final wave.

the foundry is busted.

the foundry is waste of time in the time to do it yo can do 3-4 STF or other missions and get more DITH.

only point of the foundry to me was the 50 fleet marks for fleet credit and starbase evolving. now its pointless.

A. There are some problems with the Foundry post-Season 7. Playing was turned back on precisely so that authors can test and find if there are any problems and we have found some that are making many missions uncompletable. This is not terribly unusual after a big season update. They'll start working on fixing things after the holiday I imagine.

B. You are absolutely right, if all you care about is dilithium and getting the highest amount in the least time, the Foundry is not for you. You are better off elsewhere.

Some people are more interested in the reward than the mission itself when playing Foundry misions, when instead they should be playing for the story and getting the Dilithium/etc as a reward

the worst thing is, that one day mission like "Grand Nagus: {UFP} Dailies" qualifies, and another one - they don't. also: lots of rpg/story driven missions don't qualify too...

As it stands, there are missions that run 2+ hours which say they don't qualify. Something is screwy in the way they are being selected by whatever software they are using to pick them.

It's certainly possible that it's not working correctly. All my missions but one have qualified, not sure whats wrong with the last one.

My non-combat missions are counting, so I have no idea what types of additional reqs would be. Anything different about the one that isn't counting?

I don't really know what they would be either, just speculation. Maybe there's a maximum length on qualifying.

On my mission. my guess is simply that the average time players have taken to complete it is below 20 minutes. It wasn't intended to be a long mission anyway. When editing comes back on i'll add a map or something and encourage some more play throughs, see if i can get the playtime up.
