Danubes Not Working?
 

So over the Thanksgiving Sale I picked up an Armitage, equipped it with Danubes, and have spent a week tinkering with it. After all the fury about 'Danube tractor spam being so broken that even Polarize Hull wasn't enough!!1!!!,' I was looking forward to cackling like an Evil Overlord as I squished my helpless targets like insects. (I only do PVE, and the computer doesn't complain if I twink out. Its for silly fun, not seriousness.) However, the Danubes barely ever use their tractor beams, and mostly just fly in circles and suicide off of warp core breaches, whether set to Attack or Intercept or whatever. Its been a letdown and little different from the character's old Patrol Escort.

So whats the deal? Do I have to buy the Advanced Runabouts to get what I want? Or is it a setting I need to change or micromanage? Or is it something from the past that's been nerfed? Or was it all just a bunch of whining and hyperbole, and Danubes aren't actually that power?

They got nerfed Season 7.

How about Advanced Delta Flyers? Are their tractor beams similarly nerfed?

The Delta Flyer doesn't have the tractor beams. it has the Tachyon beam.

I use the Advanced Runabouts, and they are definitely nerfed.

Yes they got hit with a very BIG nerf stick. Now only 1 runabout out of the 4 that launch per wing can use a tractor beam every 40 sec.

I am hoping that they would add something to the runabouts to compensate for this nerf.

This is something I just don?t understand, all pets spam something due to the mechanics of there being more than one of them.

Been a while since I flew my HEC, this is true? Makes me really sad and wonder if Delta Flyers would be better, least they have the Tachyon Beam and Torps might do some damage through Shields.

And they needed the nerf. People kept cheese-spamming with danubes and sci-spam, making it very difficult to do anything unless you were loaded with polarize hull, pattern omega, etc.

Maybe it was too much of a nerf. I dunno. I'd have been happy with it just being turned into a weak form of the borg tractor beam. Slightly slow the enemy rather than stop 'em, and make it impossible for all tractor beams combined to completely stop the opponent.

Advanced Deltas and normal Peregrines it is then.

Lucky for the armitage, she still has cannons to fall back on.

Has anyone tested the New Romulus carrier pets yet ?
I now use the delta flyers on my escort carrier and the peregrine fighters in the Atrox but neither is as deadly as the BoP's I have on my KDF Vo'Quv

Dammit. All the cool stuff gets ruined by whining PVPers. Danubes, PSW, the Borg Set, whatever. Grrr.

So do the Danubes have ANY point now? Without the tractor beam they just seem like a weaker form of Peregrines with thicker hulls.
