MVAM Advanced Escort Build
Hi guys... I've been cruising along for yonks in my MVAM Advanced Escort but have never asked for advice on its build... and seeing as I seem to be getting a lot of Invisitorp instadeath action of late, I thought I'd better do something about it. I'd be very appreciative of any advice.
Here's my current set up:
MACO Full Set (Engine, Shields, Deflector)
Anti proton Dual bank MK XII Array

to maximize your DPS get rid of the beams and the dual cannons.
Exchange them for Dual Heavy Cannons. On the aft, get another turret.
For Boff Powers:
get rid of the Beam Overload and Fire at Will. Get 2x Copies of Tactical Team 1. Get the highest Rapid Fire you can mount. Get Attack Pattern Omega 1.
2x Emergency power to shields.
1x Hazard Emitter to clear Plasma fire and Heal over time, 1 Transfer Shield Strengh to repair shields and buff resistance. Polarize Hull is good. Gravity Well is handy to have in STF's :-)
Tactical: 4x Antiproton Mag Regulator
Science: Biofunction Monitor should be replaced by the Borg Console. Power Insulator should get replaced by the Field Generator ( http://www.stowiki.org/Science_Consoles )
I got the Maco shield and the borg engine/deflector.
I'm flying the Advanced Escort. It's a good looking an well performing ship :-) Will never upgrade to fleet or MVAM because I don't like their Boff Powers xD
To maximize your DPS, switch to either all dual cannons or all dual heavy cannons (dual cannons proc more, dual heavies get the most out of rapid fire and scatter volley) with just turrets at the back unless you can complete the borg set. Get rid of any skills that have to do with beams, make sure you have two cannon scatter volley and torpedo spread. I'd recommend switching to a regular advanced escort before you get the fleet version because it has slightly better stats and a better boff layout, and you can still equip the MVAM console. Omega set also does more DPS than MACO.
Do I need to reconfigure my skill tree at all?
Scatter Volley itself is usefull to kill probes in KASE and get rid of the Plasma Torps from the cubes. And to kill the giant gates/transformators. Rapid fire does a lot more damage to a single target. Great for Donatra, CSE, Spheres and if you don't want to aggro the entire STF :-P
It just seems a bit silly that when you are flying in the Alpha module you have your weapons set, then when you fly Beta or Gamma it suddenly doesn't have those weapons any more... the Starfleet engineering team managed to find time in mid combat, to rip out all of the weapons systems, the shields, deflector and engines... and replace them with standard fitting ones. LOL.
