Defiant Hangar Pet

Just out of curiousity does anyone think the defiant would make a good hangar pet say for the Atrox?

The Defiant could easily fit on the Atrox, the Defiant is small. Not sure if it could fit on a Escort Carrier though.

Yo dawg I heard you like escorts so we put an escort in your escort so you can pewpew while you pewpew.

...Sorry. But anyway, honestly, let's let the KDF keep frigate pets just so there's something they keep for their own I think...

Atrox ain't big enough, the KDF BoPs that fly off a Vo'quv are smaller in pressurized profile, and the wings fold up, making them narrow-the defiant's a pretty blocky ship, and fairly bulky comparatively (I won't address the Fel'kri ships-their geometry's just too weird to make sense...)

In real terms, though, I'd suspect the federation would need a truly semi-immobile carrier to justify carrying the Defiant as a hangar pet-see something with a max turn of 3 or so, and the inertial/handlng characteristics of a city bus on icy streets with no brakes and low tyres.

The Aquarius would make alot more sense than the Defiant for a "hanger" pet for the Atrox.

Its smaller and is a tad more compact than the Defiant, and its already deployable from a similar sized ship, the Odyssey.

Only thing, is it would need to be buffed. As it stands, the pet version (hell even the player version) sucks in every aspect.

Just give the carrier commands to the tactical oddyssey. I know, the aquarius is not a defiant, but that should be enough

The Federation needs a frigate pet, but it doesn't have to be a damage-dealing frigate pet. Being able to launch a frigate that has limited firepower and uses healing abilities on you and your team would be VERY apropos for the faction.

No way, the Atrox is the largest ship in the game! It's longer than the Vo'quv by 50 meters, and is taller and thicker as well. There's plenty of space for a Defiant, Aquarius or BoP-sized pet.

That said, I do NOT support using Defiants as pets, as it would dilute the fearsomeness of the Tac escort. B'rels by comparison are low-end weakling BoPs, besides the retrofit, so their use as mere minions is more justifiable.

As another guy said, the Aquarius makes much more sense. The Ody already uses it as one, so stuffing a couple into a catboat is natural.

which ship could make a good federation fedball launchable frigate?

difeant class, mirenda class, aquariurs class, and uss-nar-raven scould all be good starfleet fedball launch able frigates fron carriers.

I always pictured the Jupiter class launching 4 defiants before a major engagement. Long Range Tactical Battleship that could spawn its own attack wing. Now maybe 4 is a bit much with the Aquarius. Possibly 1 defiant and 3 to 4 Aquarius on top of its fighters and runabouts.

10 million metric tons of Sovereign Federation territory anywhere you care to park it.

I like flying my fleet Aquarius with someone flying an Oddy. You're so tiny compared to them.
