Who here thinks the Bortasque ship/s are a rip off?

Who here thinks the Bortaque ships or pack is a rip off.I was trying mine in elite STF and it is no good compared to the Odessy which have better turn rates.

I found it easy to get destoyed moreso than on my Vorcha retro. This make it tougher for KDF engineer to do elite STFs compared to a Fed engineer.I even tried my Fed geer in a Defiant. It worked wonders.

Who thinks this way about these ships or pack.there turn rate is just so bad to what klingon ships are suppose to be.

With all do respect, I do not believe they are anything along the lines of a ripoff.

Would you kindly post your Bortas'qu's BOff's, DOff's, and gear? It's quite likely that these forums can help you come up with a setup that'll keep you from feeling hamstrung by it.

Consequently, when you use the Odyssey, do you also use the Chevron Seperation console?

I think the bortasqu' command cruiser would be a worthwhile ... free ship.
Overall, though, I think the bortasqu' ships are just not worth the cash. Waste of money.

Too slow, the unique consoles are novelties, at best. Command cruiser at least gets the uunusual sensor analysis ability.

I can put out insane dps in my tac bortasqu with tac captain pilot in elite STFs, out DPSing most escorts. I have no problem getting DHC on target with it, stuff in pve doesnt move fast, especially in STFs and I spec for max impulse thrusters and engine performance and run 50 engine power to help turn also. Its very easy to solo cubes with it, as you can rip it to shreds in seconds using all DHC and turrets buffed by 5 tac consoles and the disruptor autocannon, while shrugging off heavy plasma torps that hit you. I have a Fleet Torhkat and while it is a great ship I dont need its maneuverability in stf that much so I go with the ship that is tankier and has more firepower, the Bortasqu. It does take practice to pilot it, but is great if you are able to.

Here! KA STF.

And that is all common quality items. Except the deflector, shields, and engines. Those were very rares purchased off the exchange. 500k total maybe I spent including doffs.

I've used it in Hive Elite as well. And yah I have pics. Just haven't uploaded the vid. Hive is a pretty rugged one when it comes to manueverability. If you can do that one, you can do any of em.

The originals are cake by comparison. Just saying.

Cheers happy flying!

It is a good ship. I command a Tactical Bortasqu that uses its three-piece Bortaqu' space set, DHC's/turrets and the Universal Lt. Com. boff slot for Tractor Beam 1, Tractor Beam 2, and Gravity Well 1.

With the extremely slow turn rate, you need to slow down to one quarter to actually do anything with the enormous forward firepower. This will work better in PvE than in PvP, obviously... but even in PUG PvP, done right, it scores more kills than it suffers.

Really, it is a good ship, it's just not for everyone's taste.

I really like the Bortas as well. I have my KDF tac in it, and it's a blast. I have it loaded up with Polarized Disruptor DHCs and Turrets (no torpedoes) along with lots of cheese consoles. I don't use it in PvP, but in PvE stuff, I have a lot of fun with it.

It's kind of a 'sleeping giant'. I get around slowly, using Aux to Dampeners and APO 1 to help 'make it go'.

When I make it 'wake up', I start buffing up completely for an alpha strike (especially if under cloak), then I hit Subspace Jump, and begin unloading with an Isometric Charge and the Disruptor Autocannon, followed by a CRF 1 at the minimum before all my buffs start wearing off.

I would but I can't the UI to show up even using the command /screenshot_ui.I am using rge War Cruiser with the Hos module.I use nothing but disruptor beams and photons.I have 3 disruptor consols 1 photon consol.shield emitter,1 montonium alloy and 1 neutronium alloy along with an rcs and the Hos consol.

I use the subspace field mudulator the rest batterier or turrets.I would have to get my boff and doffs that use. This is for an engineer not a tac.

Yes I do remove the saucer of the Oddy close to the end but not in the beginning or middle of any elite STF.

You always make interesting vids thissler :).

Use STO academy, all relevant data can be put in threre.

stulpnagel 01-17-2013 06:44 AM

I prefer using disruptor beams rather than cannons, i have more arc attack angle and i dont need to be straight front of the target to engage, and of course a photon spread 3. Its hard to get used to the bortasqu and yes they kill me even more times than when i had the negh var, maybe couse its a bigger and slower ship and hull is not a big difference from negh vars.
I also use the borg full set, the borg tractor beam is devastator, but time of recharge is toooo long..
