Could Someone Please Explain Neural Processors?
 

Okay, so it says in the Elite STF description "This mission awards Omega Marks and a Borg Neural Processor with a chance to earn additional Omega Marks, Neural Processors and Level-Appropriate Gear."

So could somebody please explain to me how I could perfectly complete Infected Space Elite and Khitomer Vortex Elite yesterday and net 2 (I think, no more than 3) Neural Processors, and then today, fail the optional on Infected Space Elite and get 11....11, NEURAL PROCESSORS?

It's a random drop, kinda like the prototype tech used to be. In the same way the prototype tech used to drop in your loot bag regardless of whether or not you got the optional.

I have only ever gotten 1 or 11 BNPs, nothing in between, regardless of optional. I assume the 11 drop is a bug.

Its part of the random loot drops for STFs, you will always get 1 processor for elite stfs. Randomly you can also be awarded 5 or 10 extra processors, as well as the possiblity for extra omega marks and purple xii gear.

I've seen BNPs drop in quanities of 1, 6, and 11, but you always lose out on something else in your loot bag if you get extra. Same with 'bonus loot' Omega Marks.

It is not a bug. You will always receive 1 BNP and have a chance to get an additional amount that is limited to 11 IIRC.

I've seen them drop in 1,6,11 quantity.

At the end of the day, all you need is 30 for an elite Mk12 ground set. And they drop often enough you could wait till the final grind for those.

Trading them in gives you 1000 dilithium per 5. So if you play a game that drops 11, congratulations, you just made 2000 extra dilithium for less then 15 minutes of your time.

The new system has its issue, but those BNPs are netting me more dilithium then I ever got with the old system.

I have received 130 Omega Marks and 11 Borg Neural Processors in one ISE. 60 Omega Marks for the ISE, 15 for the elite optional, 15 for running it during reputation event, and 40 for the random bonus. 1 BNP for running ISE and 10 for the random bonus.

I've gotten that too once. :D Converted every bit of it to dilithium.

It would be nice if BNPs started to random drop during the mission like the old EDCs did. That would give me a reason to pay attention to the drops, rather than spamming the 'pass' button whenever they stack up.
