Kronos Has Two Suns?

First, I can't spell the Klingonese version of the homeworld, so we'll just go with the anglicanized version.

Now, to the main point. The Kronos system is depicted in sector space as having a smaller star orbiting the main one. I can't find any reference to a second star in the system anywhere outside of STO. Where did this second star come from?

Its spelt Qo'noS if you were wondering.

The spelling of Kronos was in the original script for Star Trek VI but they later changed the spelling for TNG. At one point it was going to be called Kling, but they realised that sounded stupid.

None of this answers your question though. I've never heard it having two suns. This may be an error?

Apparently it is a binary system according to some sources in soft canon.

Originally it had two suns, but the Klingons rose up and slew one of them.

It was more trouble than it was worth.

Hmm... the number of stars is a notable omission in my copy of the ST encyclopedia.

It makes me wonder if that peice of data has EVER been mentioned in canon...

The Star Trek Star Charts say it's a single class K star.
It should be noted that the TNG episode "Sins of the Father" states that Worf should appear in the Great Hall at "high sun" (singular).

That's good, for a moment there my knowledge of Klingon lore was being shattered :D

Yes, but by saying "High sun" instead of just "noon", they could have been implying that there is also a second sun that is lower in the sky.

just saying. lol
