Subscription prices a "bit" high

I know this is not direct C-Store issue but none the less it's about spending money on STO.

I recently checked my sub for TOR and it was quite a surprise to see the price. It's 7 Euro? Compared to twice as much for STO it got me wondering why STO sub cost so much?

All in all we get less for more when compared to TOR (as TOR F2P model is far more restrictive) and I know that Cryptic does not really care for steady income from subs, but twice as much as TOR?

Cryptic, you ever thought about lowering the sub price? You could get lot more people paying monthly I think.

Yeah but compare the F2P features of STO and TOR. STOs model encourages you to play for Free, while TORs model encourages you to pay.

The Old Republic has this "IF YOU WANT THIS REWARD, PLEASE SUBSCRIBE!" message in their damnned story quest reward boxes.

The comparison is not entirely fair.

You are right, but that's what I'm talking about. Relation price-return when compared between STO and TOR is gargantuan.

In TOR with sub you turn "extended demo" into full game. In STO you get few gimmicks (game is already fully functional). Yet the sub price of STO is twice as high as sub price of TOR.

Even with the sub being halved the price-return compared to TOR would still be huge. current 14 Euro was ok when game was P2P. I was paying the sub and had nothing against. But in F2P model?

I mean - come on, what reason one have to pay 14 euro/monthly? The status of "gold" player?

What's the reason behind such price. To discourage people from subscribing?

Yes excactly! PWE want you to F2P because they make more money this way. Subs in STO is just a left over from pre-F2P days.
