Reman prototype ship set
Can anyone help me out with this question - I completed Mission:Coliseum and chose the Reman shields, but how are the other 2 acquired?
I read online something having to do with tiers, but I do not really understand that. It also says something about completing the Vault Shuttle Event and through the Reputation system - Can you only do Vault event with 5 players? and How does someone do the Reputation stuff (I'm reading about it but having troubel understanding it - is it only multiplayer and is it available whenever? |

I don't know why they broke that nor why you can still get the shield from Colosseum.
Well doing Colosseum spares you having to waste time grinding to get the Shield but for the rest you need to grind rep, the question now is is it worth it, if you have to grind rep anyway it might be better to go with Omega reps and work towards the good gear. Sure the Reman stuff looks cool but how does it fare in endgame content? |
Yep you gota level the romulan reputation system to get the best romulan set; hoever, guessing from the fact that you don't know what a "tier" is, i bet you havn't really started on the rep system. Apparently it should take you at the minimum 2 months to complete. And you will be buying a **** load of certain commodities major regenerators and large hypos.
If you want to get romulan marks easily, it is best if you do the epohh tagging on New romulus. It is a very passive way to get marks, all you really need to do is tagg epohhs with a team (3+ members in a team) (make sure you tag 30 epohhs at best) within the 1:30 mins you get to tag epohhs once one of your team tags the first epohh). with that you can get 4 epohh active tags, use 4 tags for a doff mission to get 1 epohh research (3 on critical), get 5 epohh research to get a pup, level the pup through their respective doff contact and as a epohh elder trade it in for 400 marks. Keep doing this daily for a steady income of rommie marks. Doens't take too much time of allocated play time either. It will take a few days to finish if you do it right. Check the dev blog and any related threads on epohh tagging. If you are more into space you can do the tau dewa sector patrol daily for 60 marks, 75 if its rep marks hour. I hope that helps, even though it may be a bit confusing in the middle paragraph |
Given the expense of obtaining the top tear reman set you should think carefully about weather it is the right set for you first.
Specific attention should be drawn to the deflector which is intended for use with viral matrix and cloak/mask energy signature. These abilities are only relay useful in PVP and even there you may be better off with a different strategy. For general use the standard Maco set is a better choice. While the omega set is good for more conventional science ships, or escorts that are willing to take some skill bonusess they wont get any use out of in order to obtain a targeting systems bonus. |
Yes, the Reman set is not really useful.
If you only could have its look and use another set for the numbers... |
The reputation system may seem complicated at first, but trust me, just spend some time around it (have to be lvl 50 though) and you'll get the feel for it.
I just returned to STO a couple months ago, and I'm already up to Tier IV Omega and Tier II Romulan. |
