Jack Emmert: STO "much bigger than City of Heroes ever was at its peak!"

Cryptic CEO Jack Emmert recently stated that STO is "much bigger than City of Heroes ever was at its peak!"

Apparently the game is doing pretty well :D

Coming from a guy who claimed that (if memory served) something wasn't in a game on its launch, it does not make sense to introduce it, cause people won't use it anyways, I guess thats good.

Is it the same Jack Emmert that once said that microtransactions makes him want to die ? :o he looks pretty healthy to me :o

1) If anyone actually believes a word coming out of that guy's mouth, I have a bridge to sell them.

2) Redirecting to a blog posting instead of the actual interview isn't going to win you any fans.

Jack's man enough to admit when he's wrong:

Why would that come as a surprise to him? Star Trek's IP has an enormous fan base compared to the CoH IP. This is like being surprised the sky is blue.

It's good to hear the game is doing well though. :)

OR... He got a bonus for saying that... Somehow he seems to me like a man that would do that.

I think you are forgetting the fact that COH was the first major superhero MMORPG. So regardless of the specific IP it was based on, it attracted all types superhero fans(DC, Marvel, etc). While the Trek IP has a large fanbase, I wouldnt say its larger than all the fanbases attracted by the first superhero MMO.

Considering they're apparently selling LTS'es for Neverwinter without giving them any sort of currency consideration...
