The NX thread - a.k.a. show your NX love
Yes, i know its a ship that is almost never used in difficult missions, but I figured i could make it work. After all, the Enterprise took quite a beating and the crew was able to pull through!
So here is my logic behind this: Since the Borg don't have a Hazard Emitters ability, the only way the plasma goes away is if it stops burning the hull by itself.
Now how would that be very effective on an NX class star-ship....?
Considering the limited hard-points (really there should be 4, but who knows if that was intentional or if you-know-who screwed up, anyway....), you would need as much critical damage of both types as possible.
So, the Ferengi module provides those things for both projectiles AND mines.
[Dual Phaser Beam Bank Mk XII [Acc]x2 [CrtD]]
[Romulan Hyper-Plasma Torpedo Launcher]
[Plasma Mine Launcher Mk XII [CrtD]x2 [CrtH]]
now as for defense, yes there's not MUCH you can do.
So far I've been using these,
[M.A.C.O. Resilient Shield Array Mk XII]
[M.A.C.O. Impulse Engines Mk XII]
[Positron Deflector Array Mk XII [SIF] [SubD] [Stl]]
(the deflector has these characteristics
+17.5 Starship shield Emitters
+26.2 Starship Structural Integrity
+26.2 Starship Shield System
+8.8 Subspace Decompiler
as for batteries, I thought that the NX is quite nimble, so engine batteries would be needed. Weapons need to be enhanced further, so obviously weapons batteries should be equipped (coupled with an Exocomp you'll get additional buffs).
Now, what would you do if a probes or something was slipping past your star-ship?
I would use a [Console - Universal - Theta Radiation Vents]. That way they become immobilized and you have time to do more critical damage! - especially with plasma.
Of course as I mentioned earlier I would be using this [Console - Rule 62 Multipurpose Combat Console] which has:
+11.4% Mine and Torpedo Damage
+45.8% Power Transfer rate
+17.2 star-ship flow capacitors
Now, as for the tactical console, I use the [Console - Universal - Assimilated Module]
+0.92% Critical Chance
+9.2% Critical Severity
+5 Weapon Power Settings
+5.1 Starship Hull Repair
+22.9 Starship Graviton Generators
This obviously gives me even more critical damage, and boosts weapons and hull healing.
As for my duty officers, I currently have:
- rare Projectile officer (reduces mine cool-down)
- Space Warfare Specialist. Increased Damage vs Borg
- Two rare Shield Distribution Officer (chance to partially regenerate shields after using Brace for Impact)
P.S. I'd welcome any suggestions for improvement on this lovely ship. Especially for defense. :)

Have you considered taking advantage of the Romulan 2-part set bonus, by replacing one of your consoles with the Romulan console and the Dual Phasers with Dual Plasmas?
The romulan 2-part bonus could give your plasma weapons a bit of a boost.
You mean dual plasma beam bank? if so then yes, i don't know why i haven't thought of that.
I suppose it'll probably be better than relying on phasers for disabling sub-systems - which, on Borg, doesn't last long, unfortunately. (I suppose i could keep the phaser beam bank for PVP matches :D )
What are the stats on the Romulan two part set? :confused: is it two consoles? or one weapon and one console???
So then if I use a dual plasma beam bank, I won't need Theta Radiation you think?
I took my NX all the way to VA, though every PvE Mission in the game - I didn't do any STFs, as that would be a major burden to my teammates. It was a fun ride. :)
EDIT: oh snap!!! That's what I forgot!! I didn't list my space doffs!!
EDIT2: I just added my space doffs as well (yes they aren't all very rare because I already spent millions getting vr doffs for another captain.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to all the cool Romulan and Ferengi gizmos the OP has. So I'll have to be a bit more creative.
The 2-part set bonus would be:
Set 2: Plasma Conductive Circuitry
+7.6% Plasma Damage
+15.2 Starship Electro-Plasma System
You would get a boost to plasma damage out of it, therefore the Dual Plasma Beam bank would profit from it, too. :)

EDIT: are you sure that the single romulan beam can do as much damage??
I wish Cryptic made a Vice admiral NX retrofit. I would pay for that.
I'm in between reading The Romulan War novels and the NX class is pretty damn awesome. Its almost seems a shame the NX currently in the game is only a low level ranked ship.
