I'm getting a Norton security risk on game startup. the file is called 'crypticerror.exe

Well Norton has always been a twitchy... but this is a beta and not all of the code is going to work well with all antivirus programs.

yea i figured. just wanted to report it. norton wanted to uninstall the program lol

I have seen Notron want to uninstall Windows... but then again we are talking about windows. :D

Ditch Norton/Symantec. Seriously, their anti-virus software is twitchy, bloated, and false-positive crazy.

There are some good alternatives out there. I'd recommend ESET's NOD32.

But don't just take my word for it. Read serious, 3rd party test reports from http://www.virusbtn.com/vb100/index. No anti-virus product is perfect, but some come much closer than Symantec ever can.
