First Contact sale?
This time last year, we had a First Contact Sale and a 15% Bonus Zen and CP promotion. Any chance of history repeating itself?

I'm also curious as to why there has been no ship sale. We haven't had one for four months now.

You think they decided to stop doing store sales?

There have been zen-sales. This way, only people spending real money can profit from sales.

I guess it's possible that policy's changed...

I sure hope not. I'll hold off my buys some more. I have a load of zen, but I'll feel a right git if I spend it and then see a sale announced the week after. I've been expecting 3 sales now, based on previous years' patterns, once of these days I'm bound to be correct :p

I believe it's 5 months now.

I too have a bit of money to spend on zen, would love a c-store sale! I'm going to wait until they do a sale I think.

Frankly Cryptic, this is disappointing. I spend my money in this game, but there's no sale... So why am I spending money to buy ships at full price again?

thecosmic1 04-07-2013 06:12 PM

They had a 15% Zen sale that ended on the 1st of March. Getting 15% more Zen is the same as getting a 15% C-Store discount. Example: Buying $15.00 worth of Zen gives you $17.25 in Zen. Giving you 15% off a $20.00 C-Store ship costs you $17.00 for the ship. It's essentially the same.

So anyone saying they have money to spend on Zen should have done it a little over a month ago. :)

u are missing the point , people that already have zen, want more stuf for less zen and not get more zen..

thecosmic1 04-11-2013 08:59 AM

No. I would think the point is that Cryptic knows players are grinding Dilithium and have tons of Zen. With the current exchange rate even an average 8K per day grinder can make 80 Zen per day - 2,400 Zen per month. That's virtually enough to get a free $25.00 a ship per month.

C-Store sales let people get more stuff from "free" zen. Zen sales allow people to buy C-Store items for a discount. Cryptic is going to prefer Zen sales over C-Store sales at this point.
