Best Console options for single player or PVE

Hello,

I am looking for any ideas or input about the best consoles to use for single player missions or PVE. I don't do multiplayer or PVP because of the lag I get from my slow connection.

For engineering, I've been using mostly armor consoles, such as Ablative Hull Armor or Tetraburnium Hull Armor, and RCS Accelerator to get better turns.

For science, usually just Emitter Arrays.

For tac, usually just Phaser Relays.

I'm looking for better options. Bear in mind I won't have the shields, engines or weapons you get from STFs. I'm not confident in my abilities there, and I think the lag would not be fair for other team members - I just couldn't respond in time.

Thanks for any good ideas you have.

For general use in PvE, default to Neutronium armor (or specialize for, say, Plasma resist if you're going to be doing STFs) for the Engineering slots, Field Generators for Science slots, and whatever Tac console matches your energy type for Tac slots.

Bang, done.

Pretty much, but there are exceptions. For example, you can get the Zero Point Energy Conduit without doing anything multiplayer, so that would definitely be good and should probably replace an armor. Also, science ships probably should be running other things besides just Field Generators in their science slots to boost whatever abilities they're using. The Isometric Charge console is also kind of fun if you can get it for a decent price off the Exchange. It is sometimes recommended to use a mix of Field Generators and Emitter Arrays, but what mix is actually the best depends on an enormous variety of factors, and it's hard to give a really definitive answer even knowing everything. And of course, if you're running a torp boat get consoles to boost your torps instead of the energy weapons you're not really using.
