Questions re: Population Cap

Firstly, Thank you StormShade for your response in the other thread (see below) - however I wondered if one of you cryptic guys could answer a few questions that will enable us players to understand the situation a bit more, and it will help me to decide on my next course of action (and probably a few others.)

This is one of those times where we're both sad, and glad. On the one side, you all enjoy the game so much, we can't squeeze anyone else on to the server. (I can't log in right now either! :()

On the other side, we really want to let you all on the server! So, here's what we're working on:

1) We're increasing server capacity. We have new machines coming in to add to the server, and we've put a rush order on them. We're going to bring them online as soon as we can.

2) We're working on software solutions as well. Our development team is working night and day to be able to get as much power as we can from each machine, and we're focusing on increasing capacity, and server stability.

For now, all we can say is, please keep trying. We know it's frustrating. Please keep trying though. You never know when you might be able to get in!

Thank you for your patience, thank you for your support, and thank you for your interest in Star Trek Online!

1) What is the server cap?

We talking 2000? 3000? 4000? 10000?
Helps us know the likelihood of getting in as i hate hitting login all the time.

2)What will the server population cap at in retail?
Just an estimate based on how it stands + extra hardware getting

3)
Will you introduce additional servers if this is an issue during retail?
2nd server base, or can you constnatly increase server cap by adding more machines to the cluster?

4)
Will you introduce a queue system to log in when at cap?
Currently somoene can log on once and get in, leaving people sitting for 2 hours with no luck in getting in.

..
There are other questions, but I think these are some the key questions that could do with an answer
