No Login Screen

Is STO down now? The game crashed and when I try to run the program, it shows up in my system tray, but the login screen does not appear.

Check:

I have the solution there.

I did the flush dns and the cascade windows, but the sign in screen still does not come up.

blznfun 06-14-2013 10:25 PM

Not those solutions... Right click your taskbar, cascade windows or the like... You can alternatively use the move command then use your arrow keys to bring the window back to your monitor.

I'm not sure which move command you are referring to.

I tried cascade windows, but the login screen just does not appear.

Do I need to uninstall and reinstall the game? If I do this, will I lose my character?

Start STO like you normally would. Make sure the icon shows in the task bar (launcher) and there is no launcher window on the screen. Then cascade the windows. It should now be there.

What happened is when you crashed before, your monitor changed resolutions for a split second. When that happens, windows get jacked up. This doesn't happen when you are able to normally leave a program and exit it properly. I surmise that your game is running at a different resolution than your desktop. When you crash, this can sometimes be the result.

tarrennis 06-15-2013 07:31 AM

Is there anything else I can try? Cascade and Move does not work. The login screen does not show. I tried changing the Resolution of my monitor, but still no login screen.

I don't think the game is running when I run the launcher. I suspect this because I have performance monitor software, and I don't see the usual additional usage of my computer's CPU and RAM.

The only thing I can think of at this point is to do a full uninstall, reinstall. But, I wish there was an easier, faster option.

Is there a current download for the game?
