Wouldn't it be nice...

if the R'Mor used a Singularity Core? I'm not sure why it doesn't... it's a 'romulan' ship, after all. Just feels kind of weird to be using a warp core on my Romulan.

If I had a dollar for every thread complaining about the Romulan Temporal Ships...

Personally I'd like to see a Temporal Core implemented, something like the Adapted Borg Core for the Tal Shiar ships ... and I still can't believe the Voth got a cloak as the 2 pc console bonus first ...

If it's gonna use a warp core rather than a singularity core, when it splodes, can it it have a warp core splosion instead of a singularity splosion?

Even if I understand why it uses the warp core, that kind of thing just adds insult to the injury that every new science ship that has come out since LoR is NOT a Warbird.

"Wouldn't it be nice if we were older,
Then we wouldn't have to wait so long..."

Sorry, the title instantly made me think of the Beach Boys. :P

Yes and no.

Part of me wants it to be a proper warbird. Because that's part and parcel of being Romulan.

Part of me likes it as it is, because it looks like a warbird while functioning as a non-warbird. It means I can have the ship flying experience of feds / kdfs but in a Romulan looking ship.

You know the more I think about it the more I think the Talvath actually needs a cloak just to be competitive with the warbirds. If we compare it to the Fleet Mogai, it has 1 more turn and a slightly better seating arrangement for sci but worse hull and shields. Compare it to the Fleet Dhelan and Dhelan wins hands down statwise.

So what does the Talvath offer over the warbirds? Tipler Cylinder, 40 extra base power, and a 3 pc temporal warfare bonus. Tipler takes a console slot though, and if I used that slot for a Plasmonic Leech on a warbird, I'd actually be ahead powerwise. So what it comes down to is is tipler that much better than singularity powers it's worth giving up a cloak for? I don't think so (in some situations I'd actually prefer singularity powers).

Don't apologize... that is exactly what I thought when I read the thread's title.

More on topic, now that I know, I actually think it is nice that the Temporal ships don't have the whole Singularity mechanic built in. I was initially put out at the idea that the Romulan ships wouldn't cloak and wouldn't have the Singularity Core... then I looked at it another way:

The Temporal ships are the only option Romulans have to use a Warp Core on a faction ship. No other Romulan ship has that capability, and there are already some solid ship options that do have the Singularity Core. The Temporal ships give Romulan players another option, which is nice.

wouldn't it be nice...

If people said what their thread was about in the topic title?

I'm pretty sure someone said that the reason the Rom Temporal ships have a warp core is that they wanted them to be balanced with the Fed and KDF temporal ships.

If you're not on a tablet, just hover the topic name with your mouse cursor and the first bit of the original post will pop up as the alt-text.

What browser are you using? In Firefox I just get a tool tip that says the title. Seriously, this is a pet peev of mine, I don't really care about Rom Temporal ships and I probably wouldn't have bothered clicking on this thread if the OP had said what it was in the title (no offense to the OP). Heck I know a guy on another forum who just titles his threads with the first two words of his post, so they're all like "hey guys..." or "we need..." that really bugs me.

Anyway, we should get back on topic.
