Howcome its gotta be down 2-3 hours a shot each time, I promise i'll play for 3 hours and go to bed and you can take it down again!

probably the people doing graveyard shift doesnt' have the ability to just reboot... and need to get an on-call administrator to get over there and reboot :P

maybe we should petition a bed and sleeping quarters for the on-call admin... at least for the next 3 months :D

wow I would hate to have that job, that is what telnet is for or a terminal, so you can send commands from your home to the server like reboot.

No, that's why you have a NOC. Of course, then you have to trust your NOC people with the technically demanding task of hitting the power switch...

Thats what works the other 99/100 times. Every once in a while one gets stuck or has a hardware problem. When theres 500+ servers your odds start to go up that something is gonna hit the fan every once in a while.

Oh well.. I got 34 minutes to run to the bar and do some shots before 2am, got nothing else to do here :D
