How to Unlock the Klingon Faction
 

For those of you that will soon be new to Star Trek Online and would like a Klingon, Nausigan, Gorn, or Orion character. Start a Federation character... (I know...but do it anyway!)

Level it up enough to get the assignments from Admiral Quinn at Earth Space Dock. One of these assignments will be to speak with three Enemy Signal Contacts in Sector Space. Complete this. You will then be given the "Stop the Signal" mission. Complete this and its sub-missions. You will end by helping the Klingons defeat a common enemy in space. When this is successful your Klingon faction bar will open up on the character creation screen.

Relatively certain it's just reach Lt. 6, not this whole complicated mess.

Yes. Just level your first character to 6, and the ability to create a Klingon character becomes available to you.

Maybe that's how he got to Lt.6

Why is this info so hard to find?
 

Seriously why is this info so hard to find, and why is the faction unlocking mechanic just removed ffs, makes no sense to me to force people to play federation if they are only wanting to play klingon, ....

And on another note: according to the skills window ingame it unlocks @ level 5, however I hit 5 on my toon, went to create a new klingon (FINALLY), then of course STILL locked. seriously....

You realize this post is more than a year old, right?
