Too many crashes- not ready yet
I have a 2012 MacPro with an ATI 7970 graphics card. This game crashes constantly. Can't play much more then 5 minutes without a crash.

Also tried playing booting Windows 7 (bootcamp). The game crashes constantly there too. My Bootcamp Windows 7 is very basic. It's a fresh install of Windows 7 and updated to current. Games like Borderlands, Skyrim, and Bioshock run great. STO instant crash and burn.

Seems like it might be a fun game. Please call again when it is stable beyond 10 minutes.

I'm a willing beta tester.... but sheesh.. Any dev who hasn't tested stability beyond 10 minutes... yikes! Totally not ready for beta. This is really pre-alpha. The straight up Windows version doesn't even work yet without crashing constantly.

I went 1-50 in about a week just using the Mac client, so my experience is the exact opposite. Definitely some bugs, but also pretty impressive work for a beta.

yeah I agree, wayyy too many crashes...almost unplayable at times. Its definitely the game and not my mac cause i've got fu**ing decent specs, the game did run fine for a while before first crash, now it runs for 2-10 minutes (sometimes longer) and then crashes...sort yourselves out Perfect World:mad:

I find the opposite. The game has become more stable over time. I don't use bootcamp anymore to play STO.

The only instability I noticed is when using the Intel HD 3000 in the Dyson Sphere or Battlezone freeze-crash seems to happen. Besides that everything else is peachy.

I too am barely getting 5-10 minutes of gameplay before crashing. I have the settings mirroring the Windows version and it still crashes Macside.

As for playing under Boot Camp, I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit (the Service Software refuses to update beyond 4.0). After LoR was released, it was crashing 2-3 times an hour due to out of memory errors (stupid 32 bit's 4GB RAM limit). Turning off anti-aliasing mostly fixed it but it's still prone to crashing every few hours, until I can figure out how to get W7 64 bit installed.

The same goes for Neverwinter too. Champions Online is running fine, due to it's previous version of the Cryptic engine.
