Are more servers being bought?
 

I know they cost a massive amount of money to both buy, maintain and run... but I'm wondering if more servers are being ordered...

Star Trek just happens to be an insanely popular franchise apparantly. It would be a shame to betray it's full potential merely because there isn't enough funding to buy new servers.

I'm sure the lifetime subscribers covered the cost of a new shard..

If worst comes to worst, I think ya boyz need to Cannibalize the Champions Online shards =P

I'm sure the 1200 players on CO wouldn't even notice the difference.

I heard you can have new server hardware ordered and installed in 48 hours. not sure what their doing at cryptic, mabe they made a really big order or something.

maybe they could dip into teh $20 million bonus and put it back into the game.

Just think if they had spent like 10% of that on the game instead of lining cryptics pockets!

I hope they did....

Yeah.. i'd have to agree with you there.

With every 5th player being a lifer, and a global server being exhausted to it's limits one would think they made a killing with Star Trek.

If they value their golden egg laying goose, they need to feed it.

I kinda have a feeling they are. I think they are having a total Red Alert at Engineering, as they say...

I can see their programmers all working overtime, so much that their sleeping overnight at the office with 4 hours sleep.

Oh where did you hear this?
Which size did the project have?
In which way do you use the server?
Oh which operating system does the server use?
Which kind of databank?

What I mean is getting a server to run can be an evil thing.

Need more servers.

One server is not suffient.

Evidence: Queue reachin 1000 and you have barely moved in the queue

With that 20million dollar bonus they are getting they better spend it on new servers and not hookers and blow.

That is if they ever want to develop and sell another game again.

Well not that want to defend Cryptic, but some people here have a wrong image about servercalculation.
