About Auto fire, please read.

Hi, i understand why you want autofire, with beams...lightning fast cooldown.

but it seems cryptic has already thought of that, press escape, keybinds, look for fire all phasers.

Viola, all your beams, in one button. mashmashmash.

(sorry about the new thread, just couldn't be sure people would see my post.)

I think they're talking about autofire for ground weapons. It's not the same as fire all, and there's an autofire for starship phasers already: right-click the weapon button. Right-clicking like this doesn't work on ground weapons now, but it did earlier in the beta, hence the drama.

Personally, I'm okay without the ground autofire. I've never used it in any MMO, except long enough to see that it creates too much aggro. The only time I've used autofire for anything was in CoH where a friend uses it to make a self-buff click power more or less perma.

I think they were talking about space combat, if not then fair enough, but you can only auto 2 weapons in space from what i can tell, 1 front, 1 back.

That's the problem. We all know about the 'smash smash smash' spacebar fire-all-phasers. What we want is the ability to fire BOTH fore weapons automatically, instead of only one fore and one aft. It's just retarded, really, having to smash the space button to get anything done. It's bad for your hands and bad for your keyboard.

Ahh i see what you mean, but one of the gripes is having to alternate keys, because of the beams firing rate. Actually...this is probably only my problem, as i don't have space as beams haha

yes, but pushing a button, or many buttons, or buttons at the same time.. WHATEVER!!!! pushing button over and over, usually very fast until you get tired of pushing THE SAME BUTTON over and over and over.. or not pushing a button..

wait, what was your point? Autofire? pushing a button over and over isn't AUTOfire, is it? Maybe it is HERE. *shrugs*

as much as I hate to say it, yay logitech :/

(edit: i said it before, but will repeat it again for yooo. autofire works the way it works because thats how it works in the game this engine was created for, champion's online. it is VERY VERY VERY unlikely that the developers will ever change this, or at least not for a very very very very long time, for star trek online).

My post was in response to some of the posts in the auto fire thread, particulaly with beams and autofire rate being really fast, so rather then smashing 3/4 keys, you only need to smash one., go read before you bring your rubbish here ok?

But you still have to smash, that is the problem.

"so rather then smashing 3/4 keys, you only need to smash one"

No problem smashing 1, i mean you can't have people play the game for you, (personally, increasing the beam time so it fires several shots per cycle would help) but having multiple...

The complaint that has been around since closed beta is that people were hammering the space bar repeatedly, especially on escorts since cannons have such a short cooldown. Some of those complaints may be from folks who weren't in beta, since after each beta phase the lengthy posts were archived so they can't see the history.
