I've seen a few complaints in regard to people who steal others' loot.
Now I'm not 100% sure what the loot system is like - how it works exactly.
I do however - have a thought.
Remove the 'Master Looter' setting - change it so that if you DON'T want loot, you can set this instead.
If you enter an area and are NOT teamed - loot from YOUR kills is yours, how you define a 'kill' is open to interpretation, whether that's damage, round-robin, who-fired-first, who-killed...
If you enter an area and ARE on a team - loot is round robin.
This way - hopefully, it will stop or severely cut-down on the loot theft, I know how annoying it can be to work on a kill only to find that the loot goes to someone else who sat there and did sweet FA.
Feel free to suggest otherwise or whatever - I'm not pointing fingers - just making an observation and trying to offer a possible solution.
You can't steal other peoples loot, every drop is assigned to a person. If it's yellow it's for you, if it's white it's for someone else.
If they're talking about scanning anomolies then thats something to be worked out between themselves, most people i've noticed don't go out of their way to get anomolies.
If it's auto-assigned, then you can't really steal someones loot.
I must admit confusion about it all but heyho :)
I think you actually can steal loot .. Loot does have a % chance to drop for the person who did the most damage. I'm flying a cruiser, in an Deep Space Encounter I rarely get loot because of those greedy escort captians aiming at MY target instead of picking another hostile ship from the group.
/me votes for FORCED grouping in Deep Space Encounters and Fleet Actions!
And yes, remove Master Looter. It's nonsense in this game! People in DSEs or FAs start to invite people to a group but have Master Loot set. If you don't open up your team settings and look carefully you won't get anything ..
master looter is very usefull if you play with friends, cause everyone gets what he needs.
Im not absolutely sure, but ass I know, the first one in the instance sets the loot rules and is also the Team leader.
I have a Better idea,
On auto open instance joining, ALWAYS set the loot to robin !
For the Encounters place all people of one instance into an invisible team
and disable player teams for the instance
then those problems will be decreased to a minimum.
