cruiser petition
 
I came up with nice idea last night not sure if it could be implemented as is or any thoughts of improving would be nice too. Cruisers make great tanks and we can surely survive in massive fight. Are downfall is lack of aggro control. I know science ships has built in abilities with target subsystems how about built in one for cruiser. With name like sonic pulse I or etc that sends out wave so many kms away that causes light damage and all targets affected by it to attack cruiser for so many seconds ( excludes pvp players or does not sure there either). What do you guys think about somehting like that, or does anyone have better idea that might work along lines?

First- make a reason to not die, like having a bonus reward for not dieing.

Second- Fly with escorts who don't try to stick in a fight and tank damage. Also helps if they use skills like "jam sensors"

Third- Would be nice to have a tactical officer ensign level BO power that generates aggro. There's a semi taunt skill for ground combat- why not...space (unless I missed it)?

yeah probally just anted to have place for "ideas" especially for class that has good thing going for it, we cant do omg dps like escort, were not best at buffing and debuffing, were bricks coated with cast iron titanium and other really heavy hard metals that can take punch. I actually been in groups that say they dont want cruisers cause science can do it just as well and add more support. We can call it "cruiser future ideas" =)

A taunt power would be awesome for a cruiser if the effect looked like your phasers targeted everything around you and stared firing. Would be awesome to see forward and rear beams firing in all directions.

The pre-nerf Fire At Will did indeed look awesome.

isnt the aggro in this game a bit broken...

it was always first ship in grab all the aggro.

either case, tactical bo/captains have various threat debuff that we can use. eg. jam sensors.

yeah various debuffs help in managing threat not all think to grab them though thought of a oh && button if there was serious threat of death penalty which is just loss of crew till out of aggro. Till that gets heightned or extra stuff were cruisers is 100% essiential for sucess of harder 5 man raids (read somewere there implementing that soon in patch) ill grab biggest ship in group at least hold it down till others pick off little weaklings.
