Ha'Feh Warbird - Am I the only one ?

Hi guys

Playing STFs I noticed that there are not many players who fly this ship and I really don't know why.

Its an awesome and beautiful ship (with Haakona parts).

So the question is: Who fly this ship and how you fly it ?

I have a Ha'Feh on my main Rom and love it. Atm I have it dominion set rigged with polaron weapons and use it like an escort, fly in decloak and pwn

I still have mine, and used it a plenty since I got it at Lv40. I like to rotate my ships after using them for a while. Since I got the new Romulan ship added back in Oct. I'm about to rotate back to it soon.

Mine also has a different look than most. I changed the nacelles and pylons.

The Ha'Feh (particularly the fleet Ha'Feh) is an exceedingly good ship, with profoundly good stats over all, easily the match for its contemporaries up to and including the Jem'Hadar Attack Ship, PLUS it has battle cloak! The gimmicky singularity powers are nice but not a magic bullet.

The one and only thing that blunts the Ha'Feh is actually nothing to do with the ship itself, it's that the Scimitar packs even more power.

I've actually taken to calling the Ha'Feh the "Mini-tar" or "Mini-Scimitar", which is a bit of a sour note given how great the Ha'Feh is on its own merits. It is of course vastly more maneuverable compared to the Scimitar, but aside from that it's basically competing to be a top shelf DPS ship, and while it fills that role admirably, there is all too often an option right next to it that can do even more damage.

All of that doesn't even begin to address of the obvious "iconic" appeal the Scimitar has that the Ha'Feh, being an original concept, doesn't benefit from.

Well, while I agree it doesn't have the appeal the Scimitar has, I noticed that many players fly the Ar'Kif Carrier and the Fleet Dhelan (which are original ships too).

I saw many FED flying fleet Defiants and fleet Advacanced Escorts as well ... and FED have many good options like Kumari ships or the Heavy Escort Carrier.

Don't know why, but I think players tend to understimate it.

The Dhelan is simply the better escort class ship.

I have a nice little squadron of ships, among which is a Mirror Ha'feh, outfitted with the Jem'Hadar set. It's a pretty good ship, although I don't use it as much as I use some of the others in my command.

The Ha'Feh is a good ship. It simply suffers from the harsh competition of other very good escorts available for a low price for the Romulan captain. The Fleet Dhelan, the Fleet T'Varo, the Fleet Mogai, not to mention the Scimitar who isn't an escort-like warbird, all of them benefit from specific advantages (e.g. the T'Varo 's enhanced battle cloak) that the Ha'Feh hasn't.
But overall the Fleet Ha'feh has nice features : 5 tactical consoles and a LT-Cmd universal slot. Many Federation captains wish that a similarly good escort would exist on their side...

I like the Ha'Feh Warbird myself, especially the Fleet version.
But there are two things that give me a hard time when using it.

First may sound crazy, but the turn rate is way too high IMO, for me that ship handles way too nimble. (i warned you, it would sound crazy. lol)

Second, size.
I don't know how other ppl manage to fly that thing, but i find it's way too big.

As i said in another thread, the devs should either reduce it's size or make it a bit less nimble. A ship of that size feels rediculus with a turnrate of 16 (!) IMO.

I really disagree with any suggestion to nerf anything, with extremely rare exceptions. A much better solution to authentically "overpowered" situations is to improve other situations. More often than not, claims that this or that is "OP" or "imba" are nonsense, or whining by the less capable.

Nerfing the turn on the Ha'feh would make it just another useless ship in my collection of mostly useless ships. As it is now, it's something I do occasionally actually use along with my several lockbox ships and C-store ships, unlike the majority of my ships (which I keep simply for the motivation of having a menagerie, and with the hope that they may someday become useful).
