How Often Does STO Save Our Gameplay?

Hi

Just a quick question, but I notice that there is no option to manually save our progress/position in STO, so I assume the server does it automatically for us (or at least I haven't found a way to manually save). To get round this I log out every 30 minutes and log back in as this seems to save. So;

How often does the game save? & Where is the save data kept. online or on my PC?

Thank you.

It is an MMO. Your client only shows what the server knows. Everything is server side, and generally held in ram and saved in under a minute. In the event of a server crash you might lose a few minutes of gameplay but even that is pretty rare these days.

AFAIK, it saves at map transition only. If you haven't zoned during a mission, it hasn't saved.
