Not trying to pick a fight, just curious: do you have any reference to back up that statement as to the name's origin? The reason I ask is that there apparently are Alpha Quadrant sites called Memory Delta and Memory Gamma. I gather they were more or less used as background props on charts in TNG episodes, but it is curious they'd be ascribed to the Alpha quadrant if the naming convention was meant to show locational relation.
