Starship Targeting is arguably the most important ship skill in the game for any captain. NEVER take less than 9. It?s simply too valuable for putting DPS on target and boosting Crit % and severity.

Thanks for the advice. I tried bulking up my Aux power by popping a battery as part of my normal buff/keybind cycle and my overall damage went through the roof. Did 10M in CSE at a steady clip of about 8K DPS. I'm thinking with this build my value is more in the area of overall damage vs. the burst DPS I used to chase in my Fleet Patrol Escort, etc. Constant pressure, plus lots of AoE with the BFAW3, helps to reduce the enemy en masse and makes it easier for my teammates to "mop up" the now weakened targets.

Sometimes its fun to be the tank.
