Branflakes confirmed the 'issue' in another thread.

Namely, Tribble doesn't recognise veterans who don't have ACTUAL 1000 day status.
So if you purchased the vet subscription SINCE they started issuing it with all the x days rewards and items in one 'bundle', it won't count

He did confirm that this won't apply when it hits holodeck though.
