I'm not sure why people insist on revisionist history, but I played LOTRO during their launch head start and it was far from stable. STO so far has been one of the smoothest MMO launches I've exprienced out of the 5 or so that I've been a part of. Which isn't to say that it's been smoooth, just less unstable than most.
