Isn't STO really a FPS, not a mmorpg?

mmorpg does have a much broader delivery of depth and breadth of game-play that seems substantially more dynamic and immersive than a fps, so by the static nature of the single role-play (tactician), repetitive nature of the same quests on the same limited lobby-system maps, STO really is more of a fps.
Thats is only accentuated, the fps feel of this game, by the complete lack of any persistence to this world, which the OP forgot to mention.
But what does kill me, is that there are absolutely no rewards for science officers or engineers to be recognized for in the fps pvp lobby matches.
