Dear Admiral Stipe,
After reviewing the proposal for Project M.A.D.A.M. I regret to inform you that I believe the vessel would be nothing more than a waste of Sfarfleet's time and resources, especially so if the vessel is to be built to purely provide support for our fleets as a counter to the Klingon Defence Forces recent developments.
Starfleet currently utilises the finest medical vessels, and science vessels, as well as a number of various class of cruisers which all do a fine job at supporting our fleets when needed. The Klingon Defence Force will continually be pushed back behind their borders, provided that our fine captains continue to co-ordinate attacks efficiently, while using team work to support each other, until we can find means to bring the war to an end via a diplomatic solution, their is still hope.
We've been at war with the Klingons in the past, we've also arranged for diplomatic talks in the past and thanks to James T. Kirk of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-A, on stardate 9529.1 we succeeded in establishing a peace treaty with the Klingons, we'll succeed again, it's just a matter of time.
Captain Alecto J. Smith
