Alecto, your pride in past Starfleet measures is applauded in the Admirality. However, War is not the place for it, especially not in this one.
We have suffered tremendous losses from the Borg, and the Dominion, and casualty figures from this newest war with the Klingon Empire keep rolling in. Our fleets have been severly lacking in "The Finest Medical Vessels and Science Vessels", and "Varius Classes of Cruisers". Not to mention that at this time, Klingon weapon technology far outstrips our own, especially if they can do something like Project Hura'Peng. As a top-ranking member of Starfleet Tactical, I can tell you with 100% confidence that in this war, we have but two options: Either we take the war right to Quo'Nos and force a surrender, or they take the fight to Earth. And win.
Consider these options, Alecto, and then you tell me if we should continue to seek peace with the Empire.
