Actually, Defiant-R has higher survivability than the other escorts. Maneuvrability and cloak outweighs lack of ensign variation. As far as the MVAM go, it's only more efficient if you're PUGing. In a team with a healer, you'll be more efficient in a regular adv. The problem is that the difference is so small, it really doesn't matter.

There is a thousand ways this could be done without falling into those station combos. Substituting ensign or Lt stations for ship abilities like speed/maneuvrability/other ship abilities like 'First officer, AP-Alpha".

Could easily be done (i suppose) by tweaking the ships innate stats. Deflector Field and Hazard System -40, Spatial Anomaly, Deflector Dish and Sensor Array +30.
