Now... DS9 is actually supposed to be set against a purple nebula; they just didn't always have the budget to show it.
So the big thing is, it could stand to be toned down and purple.
I wouldnt mind DS9 being set in a dark system with a purple nebula like that. It looks cool enough, and a single, large nebula off to the side isnt a big deal. The current issue with the system is that its completely sourrounded by brown nebula and the lighting is terrible.
