The reality vs. balance train went around the loop a lot during testing, and I'm glad it stopped where it did.

Cruisers already have enough advantages to get people to play them. There's a reason they're the most popular class.

But this wouldn't just be an advantage. Just forgoing your active roster is a tangible advantage in doff progression. When the split colonists and prisoners out of the active roster, that was an immense advantage - you used to have to hamstring yourself to get anywhere in colonization and prisoners were something you dumped ASAP. The difference of hundreds of doffs, though?

And while you're talking about how it's odd... how about having 20 away teams out from a ship with only two shuttles? Or from one with fifty? Or ships that can't carry shuttles large enough for five people. These are also part of the problem you call up when you talk about actual ship capacity.
