I am not sure if you got it but i did last night. I did press skip for the missions that i didn't do (it gives you the option to Hail and do it over so you won't lose it) then you co all the way to the Gamma Orionis mission that is the mission that opened the Gate and then everything will be open to you. Then make sure you go back and do all of the other missions that you skipped

If you don't want to skip, you must complete all of the missions before they let you into the Transwarp thingy

One more thing.. i think you need to complete the first mission on each front to "skip" the rest. at lease I did. Klingon front, Romulan Front and cardassian Front
