I assume they wanted that feeling of clanking around on the hull wearing magnetic boots, which they captured spot on. I would have preferred free-movement reaction thrusters, but they explained it and I moved on.
What I don't get is why people think an actual firefight under those circumstances would have been fun. Sure, I was kind of expecting it, but trying to fight when you can barely move would not have been all that satisfying and I was dreading it once I realized the movement limitations.
Now, what I really want to see is a PvP map based on THAT with free-movement reaction thrusters on the suits. With Extreme Knockback. And floating bodies in spacesuits after a battle.
