I mentioned this in another thread, but I feel it bears repeating if for no other reason then someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
I recall ~ season 5 skill changes resulted in across the board boost to shield HP w/decent spec'ing. This meant the 35% console recieved an indirect boost. Around this time they attempted to change the console to a stacking format, but something wasn't right and instead of adding % shield HP, it add a small flat amount. So, it was reverted (meant to be temporary). ~ 3 months has passed since then and many players have gotten used to not only this boost, but things like lolz 90% resist MACO and Jem shields w/BFI Doff interaction.
To put some rough numbers behind it, it was very rare if @ all i broke 5.5k HP/facing w/my B'rel prior to season 5. As things are on the live server I can more then double that amount. If my memory serves me correctly all this is doing is readjusting inflated shield values to not quite so inflated shield values.
