The one ship I would buy for all 3 captain types is the MVAM.

It's got a bit more Sci power than a standard Escort, it has a cool trick (Sure more for solo than say an ESTF) and is one of the best Escorts in the game. It can pop both TSS and HE while still having the APO to escape things and it can run Grav Well for those nasty times somebody blows a Generator Early on infected. Plus by swapping out your Sci BOFF you can switch to drain mode to shut down bosses.

While I hate to say this as I firmly believe a good tank Cruiser pilot is a much loved addition to my STF's. Provided it's not a 5 cruiser group. I wouldn't want to take my cruiser to the Cure, an Escort fine but not a Cruiser.

If you like Cruisers and have an Eng and Tac another possible choice is the Dreadnought or Excelsior, seems like it could work for both of them. That being said I would wait for more news on the Galaxy pack.

The Odyssey is a hard one for me to say, I want the Saucer Seperation on the Tac model, where as I want the Worker Bees on the Eng model and the Aquarius on the Sci Model.

Eng would be set as a super resist tank, so the bees are a heal. Tac would be pure DPS so maneuverability becomes important. And the Sci is the PVP one where the Escort could really help boost the firepower.

Makes me wish I could build my own, That hull & that console. So yeah I would suck it in and buy the pack. And before that I would probably buy the MVAM as a choice for all 3. While I like the Defiant for my Tactical Captain (size among other things) I can achieve nearly the same thing with the MVAM and separation mode.
