Just gonna quote this guy and be done with it. What kept me in sto pvp originally was that I didn't have to win by buying multi-million ec loot of the auction house. Like, I didn't need a high level alt to "feed" my lieutenant level captains to compete. When I lose, i've generally always had the feeling I was beaten by better players, not better geared players.

C-STORE and especially lock-box ships are sort of ruining that feeling for me, though.
