these changes are GREAT!!! i love them!. im so glad procs are finally receiving attention. the improved npcs that were mentioned are great too, npcs being more interesting means 90% of the game being more interesting, people will want to buy ships and lockbox gamble if the game is more fun.
the changes to phasers are great, a team of phaser users wont be able to steam role an enemy team with procs upon procs anymore, pets procing less is also an extreamly positive change as well.
plasma changes- the "significantly increased" dot from energy weapons is sorrly needed on them, the poc they had was hardly noticeable. increasing thanks to energy weapon training and stuff is good, but why not also particle generators? that skill buffs EWP for example, and the flow capacitor skill buffs tetryon and polaron, that would sort of be consistent.
this great change, unfortunately, will not incentive's more players to use plasma energy weapons though, at least not those that pvp. not until the 4 most popular shields in the game lose their 20% defense against them. borg, and unidine, weapons becoming a different energy type that those shields could defend against is needed, until then plasma will never be viable.
tetryon- ever since flow capacitors started buffing its pathetic proc 3 fold, i have been a fan of tetryon. the 'dps' you do get from the proc is still extreamly low, but if its increasing thats great.
polaron- im slowly becoming a fan of these, because i have seen what this proc can do to you under a rapid fire cannon alpha strike. multiple procs during one of these can leave you at a fraction of your power when you need it most, sure it regenerates fairly quickly but in the right circumstance it can be killer. having it hold your power level lower for a whole 5 seconds could prove to be extreamly deadly. is the diration of the proc debuff effected by power insulators? watch for lolaron threads in the next few weeks discussing the results of this change borticus!
