Power cells temporarily boost energy damage. I would use this rather often but against Borg, I highly prefer my lirpa (after all, Borg can't adapt to a blade!). I carry small hypos (sufficient for me), a physician kit, a health regen tribble, and a remodulator when I switch to my antiproton rifle because I have no choice. Again, this is a melee user talking.
