I run my power at 125/90. If you have overflow, you can reduce your power level and put into something else.

On the other hand, it is my understanding that, while the damage modifier based on weapon subsystem power is capped at 125, you can have extra power stored in the subsystem.

If I were to set my power level to 125/100, I would actually be at 135/100. Which means that when I fire my weapons, the drain starts at 135 and not 125. This is allowing more of weapons to fire at the maximum damage modifier (or closer to it).

It'll increase your damage, because you are now firing more weapons at higher power levels.

Some have said the max energy capacity is at 150, others have said there is no cap.

Use batteries or Emergency Power to Weapons to get your power levels higher.

Of course, diverting all of your power into weapons comes at the cost of your engine, aux, and shield power. You just need to find the right balance.
