Terribly sorry, but you can't just spacebar your way through the game with whatever build you want. The game's easy, but not THAT easy. . .fortunately. A lot of builds will work, but some won't. To get past the tough parts, you need to use what works. That means using 'specific builds' and 'specific skills'. You need to be able to break free from tractors, withstand heavy fire (manual rebalancing of shields only does so much), and so on. There IS room for modification, especially in PvE. . .but certain basics can't be ignored.
