My Fed Sci's ships are named after Arabic cities, astronomers and mathematicians. My Fed Eng's ship is the Ayn Rand (he's a Ferengi). My KDF Tac's ships are all named after Cajun foods, and my KDf Sci's ships are all called Babylon (insert roman numeral). Granted, that character, Lyta, is named after Lyta Alexander - the redheaded telepath from Babylon 5. Its an indirect tribute to Patricia Tallman
