Fed players make a series of common mistakes, including not knowing how to adjust their power levels to get good results.

For instance, if your weapons power is still sitting at "50", no, you're NOT going to one-shot a BoP, no matter WHAT kind of weapons you have, likewise if you don't know how to apply or use your Buffs, your de-buffs, etc.

By contrast, if you play KDF long enough, you begin realizing that the PvP forum is your dearest friend and source of all info worth knowing-because of the articles contained therein, which articles work rather well for both saving your ass, and helping your DPS.

Further, all DPS begins at one source-not the ship, but the character IN the ship. KDF captains (esp. actual KLINGONS) have default settings that are geared to combat, and the feel of the faction tends to influence choices to make them even MORE geared for combat.

Most second-character-or-later Klinks you run into, have selected abilities like "Accurate", "Elusive", etc. that make them better combatants from creation onward-this is not a mistake, and it's not the dev's fault-those options are open to Fed characters as well...but few Feds outside the PvP circles tend to sacrifice "Techie" or "Warp Theorist" or racial bonuses like Telepathy or Creative in order to have them.


Stat wise, KDF ships are thin-skinned, short on hardware and weapons, or otherwise gimped compared to fedside equivalents at the same tier level and price.

Build your Fed like you built your Klink, and you, too, can be "Overpowered".
