Would be really nice to have a persistent zone for PvP. Perhaps using the programming from capture and hold scenario there could be areas that give a reward if you can stay near it long enough. Even if the reward was just some ECs or a gear item. ((since I am dreaming here, it could be designed to scale up the longer you can control the area, WHEN you choose to claim it could be up to you. So if you wanted to just hang for a sec grab 10K EC and move you could or you try and stay longer and maybe eventually get a mk xii console)
The zone would have no other mission. Just the object or area to interact with to get the reward. No resetting clocks or end to the fight.
Imagine a team of five BoPs lurking around in cloak just waiting for an unsuspecting cruiser to wander by. Little do they know the cruiser they are about to mug has a group of escorts and peregrines waiting just outside sensor range waiting to dive into battle.
(I think every STO dev should spend a week playing BSGO and enjoy the mayhem that it is in PvP then bring that energy back to this game and it's extremely superior space combat mechanics and ship designs. If anyone thinks that STO ships and Captains dropped into a BSGO type persistent war wouldn't generate boatloads of cash for PWE they are simply incorrect.)
