I just read this forum post http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/sh...d.php?t=271084 outlining acceptabble use of Star trek canon and an idea came to my head. We cannot portray actors likenesses., however the licensed characters are permitted. I am wondering how close you can get. For example the James bond games by EA. For several games they did not pay for any actors likenesses and only had the ip license. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_B...ent_Under_Fire . I am wondering if this could work for the foundry. If Cryptic recast the characters from Star Trek ip and allowed us to use the models in our missions, both Cryptic and the user would be protected from any legal issues.
